Hey Everyone,

A friend of a friend is looking for the title of a series (possibly a trilogy). Here's what she can remember. She read it in the mid 80s but is not sure when they were published. The books had plays being played on wagons (like Corpus Christi plays, I think). One of the plays had a fallen angel in it. There's a hunchback, a runaway princess with a talking runestone, an arrogant knight on a quest. She also mentioned something about forward flashes with a gameboard and a person named Crowley.

I am wondering if Crowley is supposed to be Aleister Crowley. I have looked at a list of references to him in popular culture--nothing looks like this series.

So thanks for any leads.

Rhonda

I don't think it fits anything that you mentioned but it popped into my head so I'm gonna throw it out there for you.
