It's helped me invent a new genre. Not in a good way.

It's hard to rate this book. The overall plot was interesting, but I feel like the author ultimately disappointed me in his execution of the idea. It's also a member of the genre that I call "the dude-bro protagonist," which is to have a first person narrator that's way too casual, and talks to you like, "OMG, you aren't going to believe this next part." Other commonalities of the dude-bro protagonist include being undereducated, being a man-child, stumbling into and through the adventure with luck, often being a trust fund kid, and usually learning how to adult by the end of the novel. Other examples of the dude-bro protagonist include Where the Hell is Nikola Tesla?, and A King of Infinite Space.

Anyhoo, it's a three out of five stars.
