Landscape with Invisible Hand

What an odd-ball little book. Not great literature - very informal writing, but kind of an enjoyable read. It's science fiction only in the sense that an alien species, the vuvv, has visited the earth and kind of taken over. This has dire societal effects and screws up the economy. So, the story is how our hero and his family cope with these changes.
