Overall not as good as The Three-Body Problem, but still has enough merit to recommend. The translation is not as good, and I think something gets lost in the descriptiveness of the prose at certain points. The Wallfacer / Wallbreaker concept is a little bit absurd and a weak plot device, but if it is looked at as a means for Liu to put forth cool strategies in humanity's attempts to save itself from the Trisolaris invasion, it can be forgiven.

The final third of the book is set two centuries in the future and then becomes much more interesting. The philosophy of 'The Dark Forest' -- not the book itself, but the discrete concept of galactic civilizations and sociology revealed toward the end -- is very thought-provoking and original.
