This is a murder mystery set in a more extreme extrapolated version of today's world, where healthcare and legal justice are available only to the wealthy, and people with the means to do so can legally buy their way out of punishment for their crimes.

It's an interesting and well-written book, but perhaps more than a bit too close to the real world right now to make for comfortable reading.
