Knife Children

This is a quick, enjoyable read, which avoids any of the squickiness of the original series and contains enough backstory that it stands alone fine. It has few surprises, only a couple of dark bits, and some really nice bright bits which might make for a feel-good read for those who need something uplifting right now.
