Watchmen

What hasn't been said about Watchmen? I don't think I can contribute much to its analysis that's already been covered.

That said, beyond Moore's writing and just how incredibly tight the narrative choices are, the aspect about Watchmen I appreciate most is a thought I share with Moore himself, as a medium-purist.

Watchmen, I think more than any other celebrated modern comic/graphic novel, is a piece of media that cannot exist as anything other than a comic. It completely takes advantage of the strengths of its own medium, and pushes those advantages to their absolute limits, graphically and narratively-- by trying to adapt it into something it wasn't intended to be (a film or show, for instance), the point is already missed.
