The Nihil are the big bad guys of the High Republic era and this story is all about one of their leaders, Lourna Dee. Following the events of The Rising Storm, Lourna is captured by the Jedi but hides her real identity before being sentenced to a Republic correctional vessel as just another Nihil convict. Once there, we get to know what makes her tick through the combination of her navigating her new situation and surroundings and flashbacks of her earlier exploits. I enjoyed learning more about Lourna as she is one of the more memorbale characters of the High Republic era and this might be my favorite of the series so far.
