This book felt sort of incidentally speculative to me, and I found the speculative elements to distract from the main narratives. Overall, this was an enjoyable story and impressive feat on the part of the author, who convincingly created a huge cast of characters spanning hundreds of years, with many different and identifiable voices. The story was really centered around women's searches for romance, self-fulfillment, and identity, as well as on how they relate to each other. The overall tone was very empowering. Ultiamtely not totally my thing, but would be great for readers who want something more on the literary/romantic side.
