Mind-boggling.

As someone who isn't a science nerd, I will admit that the finer details of this book went above and beyond my head. I am not smart enough to comprehend quantum theory, I could make a good effort if I put my head around it, but I didn't feel like putting in that effort. That being said, the book was still enjoyable for me. "Shared reality" is such a cool concept, I think that Kress was able to use it to make you think about organized society in an entirely new way. It's a book that is a textbook example of speculative fiction, I was lost deep in thought during the times I wasn't reading this book about the ideas it presents. It had split plots, which were both entertaining and therefore not a drag to switch to and memorable characters. I think that the one dude going nutty at the end was well done and Enli is a beautifully written character, probably my favorite alien I've ever read. If you don't mind some detailed world-building and science jargon this book might be for you. Can't wait to see where this series goes!
