Every time travel story I have read has always been so serious. but a comedic time travel novel?!?
This is a story about bumbling time traveling historians that invariably cause an "incongruity" in the space-time matrix. Then the hilarity ensues as the historians work to fix the "incongruity", while the space-time continuum is working in the background to fix the incongruity itself. Adding to the hilarity, some of the historians are also suffering from "time lag" from too many time jumps in too short a time.
"One of the first symptoms of time lag is maudlin sentimentality, like an Irishman in his cups or a Victorian poet cold-sober."
Sprinkle in "Three Men in a Boat", some Agatha Christie and Hercule Poirot plotline and you have a great comedic time travel novel.
I guess now I will have to read "Three Men in a Boat".
