Similar to Ubik...and perhaps better than Ubik? Only time will tell. What I can tell you is that this is everything PDK is known for in one package. It's a crazy premise, as the eight victims of the Belmont Bevatron slip in and out of consciousness, in and out of the twisted realities of one person. Each world brings with it a tension for us as readers: How does this world work? What does it say about it's controller? Are they doomed? How will they escape? Do they even... want to escape? It's smart, with a deeply individualistic message, and one I will be recommending outside his classics.
