What do I love about this book? It starts with the Deliverator and YT's skateboard in the very first chapter. This world is a descendant of ours, with virtual worlds, a digital research assistant, corporate franchises, collapsing governments and a religious cult - and it was released in 1992.
I also love the history, the technology, the attitude, the characters and their connections, and especially the world building that Stephenson did. This book just works for me on so many levels, and has lost very little through multiple readings.
