What a beautiful, gripping, dark, and masterful masterpiece this serialized novel is. I nearly cried at multiple events that happened near the end of the novel. Just absolutely perfection, a book that delves deep into the classic "good and evil" conversation. With enough quotable things to make its own short story. "Sometimes there is absolutely no difference at all between salvation and damnation." I MEAN CHILLS. I can only imagine what it felt like back in the day to be waiting for the final installment of the novel to come out, bated breath wouldn't even begin to describe it. I wish quite strongly I had been able to read it that way, but I'm over 25 years late to the party. Stephen King makes me want to be religious more than just about any organized church has ever made me want to be; his beautiful sense of magical and mystical powers always enthralls me. I think it's more fanciful and a hell of a lot fairer than the way that a lot of people answer the questions of the unknown. One of the best King novels I've had the pleasure of reading, and I'm nearing 20.
