Mark is exactly like Thomas, I mean, it actually sucks that Dashner can only write one type of main character. That being the "sensitive" hero with a strong sense of justice who will stop at nothing to save the lives of the people who are close to him. That worries about being fearful, but it only actually freezes when it advances the plot or makes a scene more entertaining. Trina is as shallow as a box of rocks, and yet again, it's hard to feel anything when all of the characters of the novel simply make the decisions they make to advance the plot. This book didn't need to be written, and I hate-read it anyway because I'm a completionist. It has action. But it all feels for the sake of having SOMETHING to distract you from the glaring plot holes and bland characters. I'm more and more a James Dashner hater, unfortunately. He's just doing what he loves, and I understand that, but I wish other, better YA writers would get more attention. This book stunk.

Read Primarily Because: Part of a series.
