It begins as a deceptively simple story of a Midwestern small town haunted by some ghosts - a bit Kingian premise, if you think about it - before gradually revealing itself as a tale of Arthurian myth and how its intertwined with our own reality (and some sasquatches thrown in for good measure). It's just a second book by Gene Wolfe I've read - with first one being Peace - but he quickly becomes one of my favourite authors, I really like his ability to create a story in which things that are omitted by narrator are as pointed and of equal importance as those written on the page.
