Deathworld is one of the older science fiction books that holds an incredibly interesting premise, unfortunately beset with forgettable characters. The idea of a world's nature rebelling against humanity is a fascinating one, and there definitely was some thought-provoking stuff in here about what it's like to live in a different culture where people aren't "rational" about things that feel easy to see in a black-and-white mindset as the reader. The MC, Jason, is kind of unbearable, though, and the military people are all absolute dunderheads, to an unbelievable extent that leads to some very disconnected things happening that took away from the immersive feel of reading entirely. Overall, a solid read.
Read primarily because: Found one World's Without End.
