I must preface this review by stating that this was one of the first sci-fi books I've read. I am a fantasy lover to my core, but for the Grand Master challenge I found myself needing to pick up some sci-fi.

Ok, with that out of the way, I would like to say, overall I found this book very interesting. The beginning moved VERY slowly and I found myself on the verge of giving up, but the author managed to make up for it in the second half of the book. Anderson tells the story of a human who has uploaded himself into a central computer intelligence network. His mission, in the distant future, is to investigate the intelligence that has been placed in charge of earth. He is to help determine whether or not an earth of the verge of destruction is worth savings.

Bottom line is, if you are willing to stick it out through the slow parts, this book is worth the read.
