The Sparrow is probably one of my all time favorite-hands-down-any-genre books. And no book should be judged that it's not another. But this felt like an extended epilogue rather than expanding on the themes of the first book. More of a "what happens next" than an exploration of human nature. Good book. Interesting exploration of the mopping up after the crisis of first contact.
