The premise that gods could be enslaved by humans seemed rather far-fetched when I read the cover blurb, but as I kept reading it started to make a sort of sense. There wasn't a lot of world building, but the character development was superb and I didn't really notice how little of the actual world was described until afterwards. It wasn't quite in the "can't put it down" category, but close.
