George (Georgia) and Shaun Mason are adopted siblings of teenage years who, together with Buffy the electronics wizard, run a converted news van that is now a traveling blog center. They have grown up in a world where zombies roam in designated areas but also get loose and must be avoided at all costs, lest one becomes a zombie themselves. It doesn’t help that Shaun also likes to poke at zombies, daring them to infect him. There are a couple of exciting scenes where Shaun takes things to the limit.

The Masons land a sweet gig following Senator Ryman in his bid to become president of the United States. Some of Senator Ryman’s staff don’t like the idea of kids tagging along, recording every little thing and this creates some tension within the group. Disaster strikes several times as “outbreaks” occur along the campaign trail. Georgia and Shaun find evidence that the outbreaks may not be random, so ever the truth-seekers, they set out to find what is behind the mishaps. Are the outbreaks intentional? If so, who is behind them? For what purpose are they creating them?

I was really looking forward to reading this book, but at the end I found the story unsatisfying. The reasoning behind the outbreaks is weak in my opinion. I won’t be continuing with the next installment.
