This is a very tight and emotional tale. It is truly a "tale". It deftly avoids looking at any grand implications of the events, while toucIng on universal human experiences of loss, belonging (or lack thereof), and leaving childhood behind. If you are a fan of Gaiman's ability to evoke raw emotions with a few focused sketches, you will enjoy this masterpiece of his particular brand of poetic storytelling. A quick read that leaves you thinking for days.
