A great tale and a good read. Heinlein is good.

The Puppet Masters was written in the early fifties and takes place about now. It holds up pretty well except, of course, for a few things that Heinlein could not have foreseen, such as the collapse of the soviet union. There is one other thing, (a few science fiction books of that that era got it wrong) - flying cars. Our hero flew Cadillacs. I want a flying car! Where's my flying car? And, oh yeah, Venus is habitable and has human colonies. Ahh, niggles - they matter not!

This was the fourth Heinlein novel I had read (or re-read) within a year. All were different from one another and all were worthwhile.
