Well done, but...
I'll say right up front that I'm not a huge fan of Stephen King. His works, for me, generally fall into 2 categories: 1) trying to gross the reader out with as much sick, horrible narrative as possible; and 2) setting up some huge Destiny of Humankind crisis with a religious resolution. Gah. I'm not 12 years old so I'm not into the whole grossout thing, and I don't find sappy, unbelievable religious endings enjoyable.
But... allowing for the fact that a group of world-reknowned forensic pathologists conclusively proved more than a decade ago that JFK's assassination was a) not by Lee Harvey Oswald, and b) the work of at least 2 gun-wielders, this book does a good job of re-imagining the assassination from the point-of-view of a time-traveller who repeatedly tries to intervene, with frustrating results.
If you're a Stephen King fan, you'll love it. If you're not, you may be surprised.
P.S. I encourage you to seek out King's The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates; I'm really not a fan of King, but I loved this story.
