Prince of Thorns

This is dark.

The hero, Jorg, is about as anti as they get. He's basically a psychopath. He's also thirteen years old. There are reasons for his behaviour, but whether they are enough to excuse his downright evil is a question that the rest of the series will have to answer.

There is a certain refreshing audacity that Jorg's lack of moral compass gives him.

It's a relatively short book, and an interesting new take on the genre. I look forward to the sequels. I've given it four stars.
