Mammoth

Not the best Varley I've read, but I think it might be the most fun.

A scientist travels back in time, and then in attempting to come home he accidentally brings a herd of mammoth back with him. Oops.

This is the story of what happens to the scientist, his benefactor, and to the only mammoth to survive its encounter with Los Angeles.
