I had very low expectations of this book given my only other reading of this author was The Yiddish Policemen's Union, which I disliked. Surprisingly I soon found myself completely absorbed into this beautifully written story. So much so that I finished it in two mammoth sittings.
I'm not a big reader of comic books, but the history of comic books found here makes an fascinating read. The story of Joe and Sam is absorbing and interesting to follow.
This book has mixed reactions, people either seem to love it or they hate it. I suggest you don't listen to what anyone else has to say, just give it a try. You may find it surprises you like it did me.
