First the good: it's fun, the writing's solid, the world building doesn't get in the way, and the language is colourful. It's a great start, it's fun and heavy. It's a great read and you should give it a try.

The structure, though, is unnecessarily complex: I don't think the interwoven flashbacks add that much (Stormlight Archive this is not), I didn't enjoy the early Locke that much and the ending is a bit too messy for its own good.

That said, the first thing I did when I finished that one was to begin the sequel.
