An amazing premise. The story is so weird and spooky I loved the hell out of it. But... the author's humor, sex, and gore craze got in the way. Don't get me wrong. I was peeing my pants laughing with the "Daisy" parts. I was scared and disgusted by the Empty Ones. And the sex was disturbing to say the least. But I felt the writing style would be more appreciated by male readers. This Carter dude and his gang... too many dick and/or beer jokes! If you get past the first chapters as a female reader you are in for a treat. The story really deserves the effort.
