So despite enjoying the story, I have rarely felt so much anger reading a book. It was astoundingly misogynistic, to the point where I wasn't sure if it was the narrator or the writer who held those views, and the main character? Whining, selfish, self-absorbed, miserable, unforgiving and self-entitled. I was so glad when bad things happened to them, that I missed out on some of the sadness I should have felt. Oh, and also, Grossman needs to learn a few things about writing, because he clearly has no idea about how the structure of a plot works. Waiting until 60% into the book for the plot to start, followed by the whole plot arch finishing at about 80%? Yeah, no, doesn't really work, mate.
