This is science fiction in the purest sense of the term. A monologue told by a square from Flatland, a two dimensional world. He has a vision where he speaks to a line, the king of lineland. Then he is visited by a sphere from Spaceland, the three dimensional world. The sphere shows him the king of Pointland, a no dimensional word and they discuss the possibility of a fourth dimension and more - a fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth dimension. When he tries to explain this to his fellows in Flatland, he is imprisoned for his heresy.

The writing is stiff and stilted, from the Victorian era.
