This story is set in a post-glacier-melt New York City dystopia populated by the poor and drug-addicted remnants cast off by civilization. There's something which is attempting to use the minds of these people to gain a foothold in the world -- but are its intentions beneficent or malignant? I enjoyed the story, but not as much as I hoped I would.
