My bad. I was getting confused because the book was published as a double with The Ballad of Beta-2 and that one was missing. The publication date and publisher are wrong on the original entry which made it difficult to see. According to ISFDB it is 1966 (as an ACE double) not 1977.

I killed the new entry and updated the old entry with the Ace 1966 pub info.  It's all good.
