This was a hard read, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. The repeated, graphic descriptions of Bee's torture made the book overlong, and there was some infodumping about the Elderlings, Dragon History, etc. Fitz is just as waffly as ever, and his relationship with the Fool (most often presenting as Amber in this book) is strained almost to the breaking point.

All that being said, it was a fascinating book, and it felt good to have the threads of the 15-16 other books in the extended world all drawn together. I know I will reread at some point, but it will take some emotional recovery time. Probably 3 stars for this book by itself, but 4 stars as a tour-de-force concluding piece.
