Red Rising

Somehow I missed ALL of the hype of this book. Please don't ask me how, because I have no idea. I read this one for the WWE Military Spec-Fic Reading Challenge. And it was an excellent book for that challenge.

Yes this is YA novel, and no, I was not shocked by some of the "adult" themes. I'll be honest. I was much more shocked when I read Lord of the Flies, and I was truly, truly horrified when I read Rotters. Seriously, I'm still wigged out by that book. I would describe this story as a more descriptively violent version of The Hunger Games and Divergent. If you like those books, you will most likely enjoy Red Rising.

Here is the thing, I did not dislike this book and will probably read the rest of the books in the series for my Military challenge.
