Nama Kwame Adjei-Brenyah joins the ranks of young literary authors right at home with genre conventions. Augmented reality, ghosts, dystopian and post-apocalyptic worlds, Adjei-Brenyah knows these are the logical storytelling tools for an author engaging contemporary society. The humor is dark and the anger is blistering. George Saunders is a major influence here, but a new author could certainly do worse. Some of the stories have conceits that might benefit from further fleshing out, but Adjei-Brenyah let's them race through a book that it is difficult to not read in one horrifying and exhilarating sitting.
