Scholars in the near future find a letter that indicates the existence of a lost Jane Austen novel. Rachel and Liam are sent back in time to 1815 to try to obtain the manuscript. Time travel plus Jane Austen? That's a premise too intriguing for me to pass up. Unfortunately, though, this book was a disappointment in pretty much every possible way.
The lead characters were unlikeable, their actions questionable, and their mission not intriguing enough to hold my interest for the duration of the story. The historical details were more like a proclamation of the author's research abilities than anything which added richness to the narrative and the historical characters felt somehow one dimensional. The "romance" and sexual interludes were so badly written and so implausible that I really could barely stand it. And the ending? O my freakin' goodness. No. Just, no.
