I was a little jarred by this book at first: first-person accounts of what was obviously killing people including children, from a very large weaponised doggie cyborg?!
Adrian Tchaikovsky, however, makes the Bad Dog so approachable, so human in effect, that you have to warm to him, as he evolves. And he does, all the way through to... but you'll have to read it. And you SHOULD - it's a wonderful introduction to Tchaikovsky, who is now firmly among my favourite SF authors.
