The Glass Magician

This is an enjoyable but unexceptional novel set in an alternate New York City at the end of the Gilded Age, featuring Traders (shapeshifters), Sylvestri (those with a special affinity for nature and the land), Solitaires (ordinary humans), and Skinners (monster-hunters). The performing magician aspect of the plot is interesting, and I wish the book had delved more deeply into that. There is a good basis here for developing the worldbuilding more fully in additional adventures.
