The Alien

A somewhat loosely written story of conflict between the fading civilization of Earth and the power of a long lost alien life-form.

The author explores the ideas of immortality, omnipotence, cultural decay, the power of self-delusion and the longing for leadership. The idea of absolute power and its corrupting influence is a central theme of this book, leading the reader to question if only absolute power can destroy absolute power, and if that is indeed victory at all.

Overall, a decent read.
