The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

What if Agatha Christie had been inspired to write a mystery after watching the movie Ground Hog Day? That was my first thought as I got into this book. But then it was tedious on occasion. And then the plot got so complex and convoluted that the reader has absolutely no chance of figuring out whodunit or even who got it dun to 'em. How many characters are there? Then at the end, it gets a little fantastic, as in fantasy. This might make a better movie than a book, but of course that would pare down an awful lot of the minutiae.
