The Absolute Book

One of my Book Club members, who is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met read this a few months ago and said that she found it so complicated that she immediately re-read it to see what she had missed. I had this book pegged as right up my street with overtones of Little, Big by John Crowley seeming to be in the mix. In the end, though as Illegible Scribble says in the previous review this is a very poorly edited book with hideous leaps in plot development and too much thrown into the mix to make it coherent yet alone enjoyable. Far and away my biggest disappointment this year and one to avoid.
