SPOILER: This books is not about a COVID-like pandemic, which I was relieved to discover when I picked it up. Still, I wasn't sure about this at first. It was a little info-dump-y and it took me a few tries to understand the way in which the solar system had been isolated form the rest of the universe. (I've also read Spin, and it took me a while to understand that Quarantine is doing something akin to, but defiinitely dissimlar from, Spin. Quarantine is not a "dying earth" story.) Once I got past the first few chaptes, it settled into a stylissh cyber-noir with some Big Ideas that was fun to read. I also liked how the major plot points converged in a way that felt logical and satisfying.
