Julia Elliott will do whatever it takes to gross you out and make you laugh. There is no shortage of southern goofiness in this amusing collection of weird fantasy short stories. A voodoo Jesus-freak slumber party, runaway geriatric cyborgs, Neanderthal fitness orgies, and pubescent mind-controlling parasites are just a few of the crazy concepts explored in this collection. It's a cornucopia of wackiness, wit and Winston cigarettes, stuffed to the brim with memorable characters and oddball antics. Several of the stories are deserving five stars, and for as over-the-top and off-the-wall as Elliott gets, she always gives you relatable foundations, with easily envisioned settings and scenarios. This book is an all around fun read with a lot of heart.
