This is my second attempt at ERB, but it won't be my last. The central theme is a love story set in another ERB jungle land. Plenty of big cats are around for the hero to protect his helpless lover and friends from.
I like straightforward, well-told pulp stories. ERB is a great teller of these tales. Interestingly, ERB is experiencing a revival with younger people in the pulp world. I'm trying to understand why. Philip Jose Farmer has created retro bridges from transhumanist modernism back to pulps.
I will spend more time with ERB and other pulpsters and transition to Farmer later. So, if I'm going forward on this track, am I going backward?
