Mmmmmm... good YA novel, but as it covered the same ground as its predecessor, it didn't have the same impact. And can Scalzi's characters TALK?!! Gets a bit much at times. However, the deus ex machina of the previous book is explained in this one, even if he doesn't quite explain how Zoe's disciples actually won. Worth reading, but not as good as Old Man's War by a long way.
