The first book in this series "Night of the Crabs" read like a B-rated horror movie and I was completely okay with it. Because it was still a entertaining read. Even though the writing was pretty eh and the plot was anything but believable and there was too much unneeded sex I had a good time.
"Killer Crabs" however wasn't quite as good, the unneeded sex got ramped up even more and became this bizarre subplot that just wasn't my favorite. A slew of new characters were introduced and they all were people I just wanted to die, some of them did, but I wanted some characters I actually liked. There was a little less of the crabs in this book as well, I wanted more crabs. I was also frustrated because there was no real good reason given for why the crabs couldn't be disposed of the same way they were in the last book, I understand the want for variation but you have to back that up in some feasible way, or in my eyes it's a plot hole.
On top of the things I have stated previously, this book feels very dated and some of the ways that women especially are portrayed was bad enough to be cringeworthy.
Some of the scenes and writing weren't bad and I still found myself liking certain parts of the book, but with all the problems I had with it, I don't think I can really give it any higher then 2 stars.
