I really enjoyed this one. Quick read because it kept you wanting to turn the pages.
How do you tackle finding a villain that strikes from afar leaving no clues or evidence of how he committed his crime. This is the dilemma that Harry has in his role as consultant for the Chicago police dept. Throw in vampires, sorcery and organized crime and this provides Harry with a very bad time.
Harry Dresden is an interesting character. He is a hero protagonist that is constantly down on his luck. I hate a hero that always is completely on top of their game. Harry is a wizard with no money, no friends, no social life and can't be around electronics. Not only that, his governing council is out to get him! What a bummer of an existence.
This first book has me hooked. I will fire up book 2 in the series now.
