Reliquary

While I found this book good in sections, it just didn't grab me. So far I find the series just average. The characters are not fluffed out impressively and just don't seem to come alive for me.

Another thing that irks me is that authors try to use popular or impressive sounding equipment. Take for instance weapons. A Glock is a well known semi-automatic pistol. That seems to be the limit of the authors knowledge and research. A Glock does not have a safety you can flip on and off. I know it is petty but this kind of flub is a turn off when I am reading.

I liked the plot and premise. A virus based designer drug with dangerous physical and mental side effects makes for a rollicking good adventure. I am just not sure why this story didn't really click with me.
