Wow, it took me nearly three years to read this novel; not because it was the only book I was reading in that time (I have read many other books in that time and would occasionally pick up this one again), but I just couldn't continue reading it straight through due to the author's unusual writing style. Some of it drove me nuts, but as I got pass about 2/3 of the book, I think it became better. Either that or I just became used to his writing style and it didn't bother me as much. The novel should have been edited down to at least 2/3 its length so I give the writing style a 2 but the story and adventure a 4 (and that's pushing it!) which averages out to a 3 or more likely a 2 1/2 over all. I will read the other two in the series but it will take awhile I'm sure.
